The Battlefield 3 beta is in full swing and within the weekend some clever chaps decided to create a mod for the PC version of the game..The gamers modded the Operation Metro map to aid 128 players instead of the standard 32 because why not right We knew these items were gonna happen but what you may not need seen coming was EA and DICEs response..According to Rock Paper Shotgun In an official statement for the forum which now appears like its been pulled they claimed that playing about the hacked servers can ca use your account to get compromised stats being altered or another issues to arise which can cause having your money to become banned by EA. If your money does get banned it mean any other EA game you have in your account would even be unavailable..YIKES That is a serious punishment. Especially considering some of those mods are popping up in the official Battlelog browser. Considering that DICE has already come to say the Battlefield 3 is supposed for your PC and being hand-crafted for that PC I understand these are protective with their product. But punishing the consumers who pay for that product only for experimenting and after that threatening all one other products they taken care of from you seems just mean-spirited..What does one guys think relating to this Does DICE and EA contain the right to complete this Have you seen any hacked servers or mods for that beta Do you believe hacking and modding for PC games is merely something publishers should stop worrying about Let me me know your thoughts inside a comment below.
