Team Fortress 2 is a free-to-play team-based first-person shooter (FPS) multiplayer video game put together by Valve Corporation. It is a sequel towards the original mod Team Fortress based for the Source engine. It was initially released as part in the video game compilation The Orange Box on October 10 2007 for Windows along with the Xbox 360.[3] A PlayStation 3 version then followed on November 22 2007.[4] The game was later released being a standalone package for Windows on April 9 2008 and then for Mac OS X two years later. Team Fortress 2 is distributed online from the Steam system while retail distribution was handled by Electronic Arts. On June 23 2011 the action became a free-to-play title supported by microtransactions for unique in-game equipment through Steam. The development of Team Fortress 2 is led by John Cook and Robin Walker who originally created the Team Fortress modification for Quake in 1996.Although Team Fortress 2 was well received Team Fortress 2s removing class-specific grenades a feature of previous Team Fortress incarnations was controversial amongst reviewers. IGN expressed some disappointment over this[11] while conversely PC Gamer UK stated grenades are actually removed entirely thank God.[13] Some further criticism came over a number of issues such since the insufficient extra content like bots[11] (although Valve have since added bots in the update[116]) problems of players finding their way around maps due for the lack of the minimap and a few mild criticism over the Medic class being too passive and repetitive in the nature.[13] The Medic class has since been re-tooled by Valve passing on new unlockable weapons and abilities.Enjoy The Game.
